The United States (US) embassy in Nigeria has said that more than 150,000 Nigerians had visa interviews in 2023. The embassy said this as it asserted that it is doing everything possible to clear visa applications from Nigerians. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has granted full waiver on accumulated penalties and interests for outstanding tax liabilities for taxpayers and businesses. However, the waiver is only for taxpayers who settle all their outstanding taxes on or before December 31. The Nigerian insurance industry’s total assets rose to N2.8 trillion at the end of Q3, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has revealed. NAICOM disclosed this in a document titled “Nigerian Insurance Market at a Glance – Q3, 2023.” A breakdown of the statement shows that total assets for non-life stood at N1.74 trillion.
