Yango has partnered with Flutterwave to expand secure, seamless cashless payments for its food delivery and ride-hailing services in Zambia, enabling users to pay with bank cards processed through Flutterwave’s payment infrastructure.

The collaboration strengthens Yango’s digital payments ecosystem at a time of rising e-commerce adoption in Zambia, supporting safer transactions, improved reliability, and broader financial inclusion for customers, restaurant partners, and drivers.

Yango, the food delivery and taxi service powered by global tech firm Yango Group, said the integration allows users in Zambia to pay for rides and food orders using bank cards securely processed via Flutterwave’s platform.

The move forms part of Yango’s strategy to expand cashless payment options and reinforce its commitment to convenience, security, and accessibility in Zambia’s growing digital economy.

The partnership comes as Zambia experiences increased adoption of digital commerce, particularly across food delivery and online services. By integrating Flutterwave’s fintech infrastructure, Yango aims to strengthen transaction security, improve payment reliability, and support scalable service growth as more customers and restaurant partners shift toward digital transactions.

Speaking on the partnership, Yango Zambia Country Head, Kabanda Chewe, said the collaboration enhances the overall service experience. “At Yango, we are focused on making our service delivery more convenient, secure, and accessible for our customers and restaurant partners. Partnering with Flutterwave allows us to strengthen our digital payment capabilities while supporting Zambia’s transition toward a more digitally enabled economy. This is an important step in improving the overall experience for customers and helping restaurants grow through reliable digital transactions,” Chewe said.

Iyembi Nkanza, Country Head at Flutterwave, described the agreement as a step forward in advancing financial inclusion across the continent. “Our partnership with Yango represents Flutterwave’s commitment to making payments seamless and accessible across Africa. By integrating our payment infrastructure with Yango’s platform, we’re empowering Zambians with secure, convenient payment options that remove friction from everyday transactions. This is exactly the kind of innovation that drives financial inclusion forward,” Nkanza said.

Beyond payments innovation, Yango said it continues to invest in Zambia through technology-driven services, partner empowerment initiatives, and collaborations that support local businesses.

The integration of trusted card payments via Flutterwave forms part of Yango’s broader strategy to build a connected service ecosystem that benefits customers, restaurants, and delivery partners alike.

Both companies indicated that further partnerships, feature expansions, and technology solutions are expected as they work to accelerate the growth of Zambia’s digital commerce landscape.
