The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to begin printing their examination notification slips.
The announcement was contained in a bulletin signed by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin.
The 2026 UTME is set to commence nationwide on April 16 and will run over several days.
JAMB said printing the slip is mandatory, as it contains key information including examination date, time, and venue.
Candidates have been advised to print their slips early and visit their assigned centres ahead of time to avoid last-minute challenges.
The Board noted that this year’s examination will feature tighter security to curb malpractice. It warned candidates and operators of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to avoid any form of misconduct, stressing that violators will face strict sanctions.
A total of 2,243,816 candidates registered for the 2026 UTME, with Lagos, Kaduna, Abuja, and Ogun recording the highest numbers.
The Board also increased the number of approved CBT centres to about 1,000 nationwide, up from fewer than 800 in 2025.
The directive comes after the March 28 mock UTME, which was affected by technical and logistical issues in some centres. In response, JAMB sanctioned over 20 CBT centres for failures linked to network and system glitches.
With the main exam set to begin, the Board says early preparation and strict compliance will be key to a smooth nationwide exercise.
