Spectranet, leading internet service provider, Reload Multivitamins, UAC, and other prominent brands were recognized for excellence at the 3rd Consumer Value Awards (CVA) held weekend in Lagos. The awards, which celebrate brands delivering superior value to Nigerian consumers, highlighted the achievements of companies across various sectors.
Spectranet took home top honours as the top internet service provider, reaffirming its dominance in the data space. Reload, a household name in multivitamins, clinched the prize in the infants, kids, and adult category. UAC, a key player in the FMCG industry, was recognized for its beloved sausage rolls – Gala and CWAY for Table Water. Cadbury carted away the coveted Consumer Friendly Organisation Award, with its flagship product, Bournvita, also receiving accolades in the chocolate malt beverage category.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, commended the organizers for their commitment to amplifying the voice of consumers. “Our commitment is to ensure that the consumer is protected and brands are given the environment to grow. Empowering the consumer means empowering the citizens,” he said.
The Lagos State Governor was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment, MCCTI, Mrs Folashade Ambrose-Medebem.
Sola Salako-Ajulo, a noted consumer protection enthusiast, emphasized the importance of the Consumer Value Awards in strengthening consumer rights and voice in Nigeria. “The CVA is doing a great job that needs to be replicated to continue empowering consumers. The essence of consumer protection is to improve the quality of life of consumers,” she remarked.
Speaking at the event, Akonte Ekine, Chief Executive Officer, BrandXchange, the organizer of the Consumer Value Awards, highlighted the impact of the award in enhancing consumer experiences and shaping the market. “The Consumer Value Awards is about giving consumers a voice and providing brands with essential feedback to improve their products and services.
