Nestlé Nigeria has reassured consumers that all infant formula products sold in the country are safe and not affected by the voluntary and precautionary recall announced in some other countries.
In a statement made available to TheNumbersNG.com on Friday, the company clarified that the recall involves only specific batches of Nestlé Infant Formula sold outside Nigeria, and does not include any products manufactured, imported, or distributed by Nestlé Nigeria.
According to the company, all infant formula products sold locally are officially registered with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and meet Nigeria’s regulatory and safety requirements.
“Infant Formula sold by Nestlé Nigeria is not part of the voluntary and precautionary recall of specific batches announced in some countries,” the statement said.
Nestlé Nigeria specifically confirmed the safety of its SMA and NAN product ranges available in the Nigerian market. These include SMA Gold 1, SMA Gold 2 and SMA Gold 3, as well as NAN Optipro 1, NAN Optipro 2 and NAN Optipro 3.
The company emphasised that product safety and quality remain its highest priorities, particularly when it comes to infant nutrition.
“The safety and quality of our products, and the health of babies, are our top priorities,” Nestlé Nigeria stated, urging parents and caregivers to remain confident in the products sold through authorised channels in the country.
Nestlé Nigeria also advised consumers seeking further clarification to reach out through its official corporate communication channel.
The reassurance comes amid heightened public attention following reports of precautionary recalls of infant formula in some international markets, a development that raised concerns among parents and caregivers globally.
