MTN Nigeria has announced that it has paid more than ₦6.9 trillion in taxes, levies, and duties to the Federal and State Governments, reinforcing its position as one of Nigeria’s largest corporate taxpayers.
The company said the contribution reflects its long-standing fiscal partnership with the government and supports critical national priorities, especially amid ongoing economic reforms.
Beyond tax remittances, MTN highlighted its role in national development. The operator is currently rehabilitating the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit (RITC) scheme, with the project now 50% complete.
According to its latest financial results, MTN recorded a 57.5 per cent rise in service revenue to ₦3.7 trillion, while Profit After Tax climbed to ₦750.2 billion, reversing the loss reported the previous year. The company said the improved performance underscores its resilience and operational strength.
MTN also noted its social impact contributions. Through the MTN Foundation, the firm has invested more than ₦32.23 billion in initiatives focused on youth empowerment, digital literacy, and other national priorities.
Meanwhile, the board approved an interim dividend of ₦5.00 per share, benefiting its diverse shareholder base, which includes Nigerian Pension Funds representing over 10 million contributors.
