Digital Pay Expo 2023 kicked off in style at the Eko Hotel, Lagos today with participation by leading banks, fintechs, payment, E-commerce, regulators, government agencies and transportation services providers headlining the activities.

The two-day event, scheduled for June 7 and 8, seeks to promote the interest of stakeholders in the banking and finance sector, particularly those involved in fintech and innovation as change enablers.

Adeyinka Adeyemi, Managing Director/CEO, INTERMARC Consulting, organiser of the forum revealed that the theme of this year’s event The Future is Contactless was chosen in recognition of the trajectory of digital payment.

Contactless payment is a unique advancement that has completely changed how people transact goods and services on the go. With the popularity of mobile payments, contactless credit cards and other payment systems taking off in recent years, it is clear that this trend will not be slowing down anytime soon.

Adeyemi noted that the focus now is on how to expand the efficiency that technology brings into the different aspects of the payment spectrum.

The Yello Digital Financial Services (YDFS), a subsidiary of MTN Nigeria, Africa’s largest provider of communications services, and the operator of MoMo Agent service was on the ground.

Chioma Nwahiri, Head, Customer Engagement, YDFS, revealed that the firm harnesses the power of technology to provide frictionless and low-cost payments for consumers and businesses of all sizes.

She noted that the firm was eager to collaborate with operators in the nation’s financial services space including merchants, businesses, fintech companies, banks, financial institutions, digital services providers and other organisations to further deep financial inclusion in Nigeria. She called on interested parties to reach out with hesitation.

Another exhibitor that gathered a crowd at the high-octane event is Trendit. Trendit is a leading company in the payment industry focused on providing tightly integrated POS terminals and software solutions and services. The company had on display its Linux classic T3, Android X+ system S680, tailored soundbox QR terminal P3 and the leading cloud-based printer P8 + IOT SaaS platform for takeaway and app-based cloud printing solutions, among other cutting-edge technology.

Digital Pay Expo 2023 is the ideal conference for leading executives and evolving industry innovators looking to collaborate. This one-of-a-kind event is designed for financial services professionals to discover new use cases and technologies that are accelerating digital finance.

The hall was packed with audiences which included C- Level Executives, Departmental Head, Managers, Associate / Entry level, Merchants, and Experts from a broad range of industries.

Digital Pay Expo 2023 continues on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
