JMG Limited has said the growing adoption of clean energy solutions is significantly reducing power costs, strengthening communities, and improving business competitiveness across Nigeria.
Speaking at an event to mark International Clean Energy Day in Lagos, Raymond Nwose, JMG’s Product Manager for Hybrid Power Systems, said the shift to clean energy has moved beyond environmental concerns to become an economic necessity.
“Clean energy is reducing power costs, enabling communities, and enhancing competitiveness. As more countries move towards sustainability, the transition to clean energy has become an economic imperative,” Nwose said.
Also speaking, Rabih Jammal, JMG’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the company’s deployment of solar hybrid power systems at three NIPCO fuel stations, the State House in Awka, Rack Centre, Nourdm Global, and other high-profile facilities nationwide.
According to him, the projects demonstrate that clean energy solutions are technically feasible, commercially viable, and practical in Nigeria. He added that JMG’s renewable energy installations have cut carbon emissions by tens of thousands of kilograms of CO₂, while saving clients millions of naira in diesel costs.
Jammal said JMG will continue to expand its solar and hybrid energy footprint through investments in technology, partnerships, and human capital to support Nigeria’s energy transition.
Providing technical details, Nwose explained that JMG operates a solar hybrid system powered by rooftop solar panels with a combined capacity of over 130 kilowatts peak, supported by energy storage systems delivering 184 kilowatt-hours. He noted that the company’s head office is fully powered by the system, significantly reducing energy expenses.
He stressed that clean energy now works “technically, commercially and financially,” and called for faster adoption across the country to support economic growth.
Oluwatomi Faniran, JMG’s Head of Marketing, said the company has reduced up to 70,000 kilograms of CO₂ emissions through solar installations at its outlets and extended clean energy access to underserved communities, including primary healthcare centres in Ketu and Bariga.
Faniran said JMG remains committed to scaling its clean-energy initiatives and positioning renewable energy as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s sustainable development.
