Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has unveiled his eagerly-awaited manifesto. The 72-page manifesto, titled ‘It’s POssible: Our Pact with Nigerians’, was released on Sunday. Remittances to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) withstood global headwinds in 2022, growing an estimated 5 per cent to $626 billion. This is sharply lower than the 10.2 per cent increase in 2021, according to the latest World Bank Migration and Development Brief. The Nigerian government and fuel marketers have offered varying explanations for the ongoing fuel scarcity that has affected states across the country for weeks without reprieve with pump price hitting N270 in many places.
