Uber contributed an estimated ₦34 billion to Nigeria’s economy in one year, according to a new report by research firm Public First. The findings, released at the Lagos Road Mobility Summit, show the ride-hailing company’s significant impact on both drivers and consumers. Nigeria’s voter registration drive is off to a strong start, with over 4.4 million Nigerians completing the online pre-registration process in just four weeks. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that as of September 14, 2025, a total of 4,445,505 people had registered online since the exercise began on August 18. The data shows that women are leading the registration effort, accounting for 51.83 per cent of all new registrants.
