Gaming company 1win Nigeria has set a Guinness World Record for the largest Afrobeats dance, bringing together more than 400 dancers in Lagos in a celebration of music, culture, and community.
The record-setting event drew creators, professional dancers, influencers, and Afrobeats enthusiasts who performed in unison to Wizkid’s hit track “Money & Love/ Money Constant”, highlighting the global appeal of Nigeria’s dominant music genre.
Organisers said the initiative was designed to showcase Africa’s growing influence on global pop culture, with Lagos chosen as the venue because of its reputation as one of the continent’s leading creative hubs and the heartbeat of Afrobeats.
The event was delivered through collaboration with prominent dance and influencer communities. Among the key partners were Ifeoma “E4ma” Efiokwu and Emmanuella “Ellaley” Odiley of GGB Dance Studio, alongside influencer Trophy Bwoy, who helped lead the choreography and mobilise participants.
According to the organisers, the project was driven from concept to execution by the 1win team as part of its broader strategy to strengthen engagement with audiences across Africa and international markets.
Beyond the record attempt, the organisers said the event celebrated the power of African communities to unite around culture and creativity.
Over the past decade, Afrobeats has evolved into a global cultural force, with Nigerian and African artists selling out arenas, headlining major international festivals, and collaborating with global music stars across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The genre’s rhythms, languages, and dance styles now heavily influence mainstream global music and streaming trends.
Founded in 2016, 1win operates in the global gaming industry with a presence across Asia, Latin America, and Africa, offering entertainment services tailored to regional markets.
The company has also expanded its global visibility through partnerships with celebrities, including actor Johnny Sins, who became a brand ambassador in 2024, and MMA champion Jon Jones, who joined the brand as global ambassador in 2025.
The Lagos record attempt, organisers said, further reinforces Africa’s growing cultural footprint and the unifying power of music and dance.
