President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals to the boards and management of 10 federal agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, announced in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
As chairman of the REA Board, Fayose will work alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as non-executive directors.
The board also includes the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors.
The Rural Electrification Agency is responsible for expanding electricity access to underserved and rural communities across Nigeria.
President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC).
Former House of Representatives member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was named Secretary of the commission.
Other members appointed to the commission include:
- Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue)
- Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo)
- Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna)
- Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno)
- Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu)
- Lawrence Okoh (Edo)
- Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi)
The President also approved several other appointments across key government institutions.
Among them are:
- Dr. Abuh Mohammed – Director-General, National Population Commission (NPC), replacing Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun.
- Dr. Akinola Odeyemi – Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).
- Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
- Julius Oloro – Chief Executive Officer, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
- Shuni Muhammad Dahiru – Executive Secretary, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.
- Gisaor Vincent Iorja – Executive Director (Finance), Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.
Iorja is an economist, legal scholar and academic who currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission.
President Tinubu also reconstituted the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman.

In a related move, the President redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who previously served as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The latest appointments are part of the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across key public institutions responsible for electricity access, wage administration, population management, fiscal governance, housing, agriculture, education and energy development.
