The Plateau State government has introduced a new online portal for business registration. The move is designed to make it easier to register and track businesses, as well as to improve the state’s commercial environment.

What the New System Does

  • Simplifies Registration: The new digital platform replaces the old, manual system, making the process faster and more accessible for businesses, no matter where they are located in the state.
  • Reduces Errors: By moving the process online, the government aims to minimize human error and create a more efficient system.
  • Boosts Investor Confidence: According to Mohammed Salihu Nyalun, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, the new portal is expected to improve the state’s “ease-of-doing-business index” and attract more investors.

Benefits for Businesses

Business owners in Plateau State can now expect a more secure and user-friendly experience, with features like:

  • Step-by-step registration guides.
  • Online payment options.
  • The ability to track the status of their registration in real-time.

The government has also made it clear that this new system is mandatory for all businesses and is backed by law. This will help the state create a comprehensive database of all businesses, which will assist in providing support and minimizing revenue losses.
