Olam Agri was praised for its commitment to women’s empowerment as its Crown Flour Angels (CFA) Baking Academy recently graduated 355 women. This latest class brings the total number of women trained by the academy to 1,004 in just three years.
The CFA Academy is a key part of Olam Agri’s Seeds for the Future (SFTF) initiative. It provides women with an intensive four-week course in baking and entrepreneurship, culminating in a professional certification from the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB). The goal is to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to build sustainable businesses.
Kano State officials and NABTEB commended Olam Agri, noting that empowering women is vital for raising household income and supporting the state’s economic agendas. Bola Adeniji, General Manager of Marketing at Olam Agri, emphasized that the initiative reflects the company’s belief that corporate success must include social impact. By giving women valuable skills, Olam Agri is helping them enter a growing market and contribute effectively to the economy.
