Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 43 ships carrying petroleum products, food items, containers, and other cargoes are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between May 26 and June 6.
According to the agency’s Daily Shipping Position, the vessels are scheduled to berth at Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tin Can Island Port.
The NPA disclosed that the incoming vessels will transport containers, fresh fish, petrol, aviation fuel, diesel, gasoline, wheat, and other general cargoes.
Out of the 43 expected ships:
- Eight vessels are carrying containerised cargoes
- Thirty-five others are laden with petroleum products and bulk cargoes
11 Vessels Awaiting Berth
The authority also revealed that 11 ships and tanker vessels have already arrived at the ports and are currently awaiting berth allocation.
The waiting vessels are carrying:
- Containers
- Petrol
- Gasoline
- Crude oil
- Diesel
- Condensate
- Bulk fertiliser
- Bulk salt
21 Ships Currently Discharging Cargoes
According to the NPA, 21 vessels are presently discharging cargoes across the Lagos ports.
Items being offloaded include:
- Bulk urea
- Containers
- Petrol
- Trucks
- Bulk sugar
- Wheat
- Millet
- Bulk gypsum
- Aviation fuel
- Diesel
The steady inflow of vessels highlights continued activity across Nigeria’s busiest seaports as imports of fuel, food supplies, and industrial raw materials remain strong.
