The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially opened its recruitment portal for 50,000 new constables in the Nigeria Police Force. Applications run from 15 December 2025 to 25 January 2026, the Commission announced in Abuja.

The recruitment drive includes two categories: General Duty Police Constables and Specialist Recruits covering medical, transport, EOD-CBRN, K9, mounted troop, marine, artisan, IT, and communication units. Specialist roles include dog handlers, divers, drivers, mechanics, IT technicians, welders, and other technical positions.

Applicants must be Nigerian by birth, physically and mentally fit, of good character, and free of criminal convictions. Age limits are 18–25 for General Duty and up to 28 for Specialists, with minimum height requirements of 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment and training.

Interested candidates must apply via https://npfapplication.ng and submit academic certificates, proof of origin, birth certificate, and, for specialists, relevant trade or driver’s licenses. General Duty applicants require at least five credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO, including English and Mathematics, while specialists need additional experience or trade certifications.

The PSC emphasised a free, merit-based, and fully transparent process, including physical and medical screenings, aptitude tests, and background checks. Any attempt at bribery will be investigated and punished.
