The Nigeria Digital Public Relations Summit (NDPRS) has unveiled a six-member Advisory Board made up of leading professionals in public relations, strategic communications, media, and digital innovation as preparations gather pace for its 2026 edition.

The move marks a significant milestone for the summit, which is entering its 11th year as one of Africa’s foremost platforms for discussions on digital communications, reputation management, and public relations practice.

According to the organisers, the Advisory Board will provide independent guidance, strategic direction, and industry expertise aimed at enhancing the summit’s relevance, influence, and long-term impact.

The board is also expected to drive strategic partnerships, strengthen stakeholder engagement, support industry advocacy, and promote professional development initiatives that advance digital public relations practice across Nigeria and Africa.

The newly constituted Advisory Board comprises:

  • Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, Lead Partner at CMC Connect LLP and former President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA);
  • Emeka Oparah, Vice President, Corporate Communications at Airtel Africa;
  • Yushau A. Shuaib, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Image Merchants Promotion Limited, publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential;
  • Tolulope Olorundero, Founder and Principal Consultant of Mosron Communications and Founder of Nigerian Women in Public Relations;
  • Omawumi Ogbe, Chief Executive Officer of GLG Communications and Founder of the PR Power List; and
  • Celestine Achi, Chief Executive Officer of Cihan Media Group.

Speaking on behalf of the Advisory Board, Chairman Yomi Badejo-Okusanya described the summit as a credible platform that has consistently driven conversations around digital public relations and strategic communications in Africa.

He noted that the communications profession is evolving rapidly and requires practitioners who can think critically, embrace innovation, and adapt to changing realities.

“The Nigeria Digital PR Summit has established itself as a credible platform for advancing discussions on digital public relations, reputation management, and strategic communications across Africa. As an Advisory Board, we are committed to supporting its continued growth and helping shape a profession that can thrive in an increasingly complex communications landscape,” he said.

Badejo-Okusanya added that the future belongs to professionals who can continuously learn, innovate, and collaborate across disciplines and sectors.

Convener of the summit, Segun McMedal, described the appointment of the board as a defining moment in the evolution of the conference.

According to him, the wealth of experience and influence represented by the board members will strengthen stakeholder engagement, deepen strategic partnerships, and enhance the summit’s contribution to the development of digital public relations across the continent.

“The calibre, experience, and industry influence of these professionals will add tremendous value as we expand the summit’s reach and deepen its impact on the communications profession in Nigeria and Africa,” he said.

The 11th edition of the Nigeria Digital PR Summit is scheduled to hold on October 15 and 16, 2026, at The Zone in Lagos.

The conference will be held under the theme:

“The Rise of Digital Influence: Culture, Creators and the New PR Playbook.”

The theme is expected to explore the growing influence of digital creators, emerging communication trends, evolving audience behaviours, and the strategies organisations need to remain relevant in a rapidly changing media and communications environment.

Over the years, the Nigeria Digital PR Summit has become a key gathering for public relations professionals, corporate communicators, media practitioners, digital strategists, policymakers, academics, and technology innovators seeking to shape the future of communications in Africa.
