The Lagos State Government has reopened registration for the second batch of its 2026 Computer-Based Test (CBT) screening into Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools, offering another opportunity to eligible pupils who missed the first examination.
The registration exercise, which began on July 14, will close on August 15, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB) through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
The board said the second screening is specifically designed for candidates who were unable to participate in the first exercise because their examination dates clashed with those of other examination bodies.
Candidates are required to complete their registration online through the LSEB portal at a fee of N10,000 per applicant.
The examination will take place on August 21 and 22, 2026, at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, Lagos, with candidates expected to arrive by 8:00 a.m.
Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Adebayo Orunsolu, said the second screening demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing equal access to quality education for all qualified candidates.
He urged parents and guardians to register their children early and ensure strict compliance with the registration guidelines to avoid last-minute challenges.
The board also announced that Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaiye, and Eva-Adelaja Girls’ Junior Secondary School, Bariga, will not be available as admission options during the registration exercise.
Orunsolu assured parents and stakeholders that the examination would be conducted in a transparent, credible and efficient manner in line with established standards and global best practices.
The Model Colleges CBT serves as the entrance examination for admission into Lagos State Model Colleges and upgraded Junior Secondary Schools for Primary Six pupils.
Earlier this year, the state conducted the first phase of the screening exercise at the same registration fee of N10,000 per candidate.
The latest exercise follows another adjustment to the state’s education calendar after the Lagos Government recently rescheduled the 2026 Placement Test into public junior secondary schools from July 25 to July 28 to avoid a clash with the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
