The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that a mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for the 2025 admission cycle will be held on Saturday, June 28. This crucial exercise aims to provide an opportunity for nearly 97,000 candidates who faced various challenges during the main examination.
According to a statement shared by JAMB on its official X handle on Sunday, the mop-up examination will cater to 96,838 candidates in total. This includes 5,096 candidates who were part of the “spill-over” group and those who experienced biometric verification issues during the primary UTME.
Additionally, a significant number of 91,742 candidates who missed either the main examination or its subsequent resit will also be accommodated in this special one-off exercise for the 2025 UTME.
The examination will be conducted across 183 centers nationwide. JAMB has also informed candidates that they can begin printing their examination notification slips starting from Monday, June 23, 2025.
This initiative underscores JAMB’s commitment to ensuring that eligible candidates have a fair opportunity to participate in the tertiary institution admission process.
