Enviable Transport has announced plans to scale up the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tricycles nationwide, in a move aimed at reducing transport costs and promoting cleaner energy alternatives.

In a statement signed by Chukwuemeka Ituma, the Group Managing Director, the company said the initiative is designed to lower fuel expenses, reduce carbon emissions, and improve operational efficiency for drivers and fleet operators.

He noted that the push for CNG adoption aligns with global efforts to transition to environmentally sustainable energy sources, especially amid rising petrol and diesel costs.

“Drivers and fleet operators stand to benefit significantly from this initiative, as it will reduce operating costs and improve profitability,” Ituma said.

Beyond the economic benefits, the company emphasised the environmental impact of the programme, noting that CNG-powered vehicles produce fewer emissions, contributing to cleaner air and healthier urban environments.

The rollout is part of the company’s broader “Drive CNG Initiative,” which seeks to accelerate the adoption of gas-powered vehicles and position Enviable Transport as a leader in sustainable mobility solutions.

Industry stakeholders say the initiative could help drive wider acceptance of CNG in Nigeria’s transport sector, especially as operators seek cost-effective and eco-friendly alternatives.

With its expanding footprint, Enviable Transport said it remains committed to improving the country’s transportation system by delivering more efficient, affordable, and sustainable mobility options for Nigerians.
