Don Pedro Aganbi, veteran media entrepreneur, filmmaker, and Tech/Nollywood advocate, has officially declared his candidacy for the position of Director, Policy & Implementation in the forthcoming Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) National Elections.
At a media parley with entertainment editors in Lagos, Aganbi, who has been cleared by the AGN National Electoral Committee, outlined his vision to strengthen the Guild through effective policy formulation and consistent implementation.
A long-standing member of the Guild since 2003, Aganbi is renowned for his advocacy for professionalism and innovation in Nollywood. He has held several key positions, including PRO and Chairman Emeritus of AGN Lagos, Special Adviser on Projects to the National President, and Chairman of the National Organising Committee for the Screen Actors Awards.
His notable initiatives include the AGN Newsletter, AGN Veterans Night, Lagos Actors Week, AGN Joggers Club, Nollywood Economic Outlook (NEO), and the AGN Police – all aimed at improving member welfare, professionalism, and industry standards.
Speaking at the briefing, Aganbi said, “Actors are the soul of Nollywood. Leadership must protect their dignity and ensure policies deliver tangible results. It’s time to move from progress to greatness.”
Running on the campaign slogan “From Progress to Greatness,” Don Pedro Aganbi is positioning himself as a reform-driven candidate focused on continuity, growth, and sustainable advancement within the Guild.
