The Christ Chapel International Churches has announced a grant of N1 million to 10 entrepreneurs to support their businesses.
This is part of the highlights of its 40th anniversary and the commencement of the 2022 annual camp meeting.
According to the Chairman of the anniversary committee, Pastor Niyi Odetayo, the grant is mainly for members of the church who have established businesses and need small support to expand their operations.
He added that the church is also providing solar-powered electricity for the Bode Thomas Police Station in Surulere, Lagos in its efforts to combat crime. Odetayo said that the solar-powered energy (one kilowatt of solar inverter) is to enable the Police facility to perform basic operations in the face of incessant power outages in the country.
He said further that the church had executed projects for the station in the past.
The Community Primary School at Muritala Animasaun area in Surulere will also be a major beneficiary of the church with a borehole facility for the school community, Odetayo said, adding that the church would also distribute foodstuff to cushion the effects of the high cost of food items.
The church’s Council Chairman, Rev Dan Ibekwe, also said that the church would use the anniversary to underscore its commitment to provide succour for the underprivileged by ministering to their needs. In the past 40 years, he added, the church has provided relief materials and food for thousands of people to address the social ills.
He said that the church has been a strong advocate to change the attitudinal disposition of Nigerians and also eliminate social vices through several programmes aimed at helping the people to shun improper conduct in society.
