Former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has urged Christians in business and public service to embrace conviction-driven leadership, stressing that faith must translate into ethical conduct and moral responsibility across all sectors of society.
Anyim made the call on Thursday in Abuja during the unveiling of the official logo for the 2026 Lagos National Convention of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Nigeria.
The logo unveiling, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Maitama, marked a major milestone in preparations for the national convention, which is expected to attract members and stakeholders from across Nigeria and other countries.
Speaking at the event, Barrister Isaac Okpanachi, National President of FGBMFI Nigeria, announced that the 2026 convention will hold at the National Theatre, Lagos, describing the venue as symbolic, as it was where the fellowship first took root in Nigeria.
He also unveiled the convention theme, “Pressing Towards the Mark” (Philippians 3:14), explaining that it reflects the values of focus, resilience and unwavering commitment to God’s calling in both professional and personal life.
Okpanachi said the newly unveiled logo represents the fellowship’s mission to reach professionals, public servants and individuals engaged in legitimate vocations, while reinforcing integrity, accountability and excellence in leadership.
He expressed appreciation to Senator Anyim for his long-standing support of the fellowship and expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to produce leaders who model ethical values in business and governance.
Earlier, Mr. Sunny Beyioku, Southwest 3 District Coordinator and Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, assured the public that preparations for the convention were progressing smoothly. He said all districts of the fellowship were actively involved in the planning process, with efforts focused on celebrating the fellowship’s history and expanding its impact nationwide.
According to the organisers, the 2026 convention is designed to inspire, connect and reposition members spiritually and professionally. Activities lined up include rallies, Bible teachings, prison outreaches, and special dinners and luncheons for professionals, politicians, civil servants, artisans and other stakeholders.
Responding to questions from journalists, FGBMFI leaders highlighted the impact of past conventions, noting that sustained outreach programmes and publications have strengthened the fellowship’s visibility and influence across the country.
On digital engagement, the leadership disclosed plans to expand online meetings, strengthen youth-focused content and deepen the fellowship’s digital presence. Okpanachi also cited his LifeLight Help TV platform as part of ongoing efforts to reach a wider audience.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including members of the Board of Trustees, national officers and district coordinators of the fellowship.
The unveiling ceremony concluded with joint prayers and closing remarks by a member of the National Executive Council, Dr. Jerry Abutu.
Founded in 1951 in Los Angeles, California, by dairy farmer Demos Shakarian, the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International has grown into a global Christian movement, with Nigeria currently hosting the largest number of FGBMFI chapters worldwide.
