The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of over 1.8 million results from the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), marking a significant milestone in the 2026 admissions cycle.
The Board disclosed that the results, which cut across candidates from all states of the federation, were processed and released within a record timeframe, underscoring JAMB’s continued commitment to leveraging technology for efficiency, transparency, and credibility in Nigeria’s examination system.
According to JAMB, candidates can access their results through designated channels, with the Board urging all candidates to follow official procedures to avoid misinformation and exploitation by fraudulent agents.
JAMB noted that the 2026 UTME featured enhanced technological safeguards aimed at curbing examination malpractice. These include improved biometric verification, real-time monitoring, and advanced data analytics, all of which contributed to the integrity of the examination process.
The Board emphasised that any irregularities detected are being thoroughly investigated, with appropriate sanctions to be applied where necessary. This, it said, is part of ongoing efforts to maintain a level playing field for all candidates
Candidates are advised to carefully review their results and stay informed about the next steps in the admissions process, including post-UTME screenings and institutional requirements. JAMB also reiterated the importance of adhering to official communication channels for updates.
The release of over 1.8 million results highlights the scale and importance of the UTME as a gateway to tertiary education in Nigeria. It also reflects the growing demand for higher education opportunities among Nigerian youth.
JAMB reaffirmed its dedication to continuous improvement, ensuring that the examination process remains fair, inclusive, and aligned with global best practices.
