Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, has launched a bold new initiative to lure top content creators from rival platforms, offering up to $3,000 per month for established influencers to post short-form videos, known as Reels, on Facebook.
The programme, called Creator Fast Track, targets creators with strong followings on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram who are either new to or returning to Facebook. Selected participants will also receive immediate access to Facebook’s monetisation tools, allowing them to earn additional income from content performance, including views, engagement, and audience growth.
Creators with at least 100,000 followers on one of the eligible platforms can earn $1,000 monthly, while those with over one million followers qualify for the full $3,000 monthly stipend. The programme runs for up to three months, during which participants must regularly post Reels to remain eligible for payouts.
Meta has emphasised that the initiative is about more than guaranteed earnings. Participants will also benefit from increased visibility and reach on Facebook, helping them rapidly grow their audience and engagement on the platform. “Creators in the program can earn even more beyond the Creator Fast Track payouts through Facebook Content Monetization,” Meta said, highlighting that Reels account for roughly 60 per cent of total monetisation payouts.
The programme also underscores Meta’s growing commitment to creators. In 2025, the company paid out nearly $3 billion through various monetisation programmes, a 35 per cent increase from the previous year and the highest annual payout in its history.
Facebook, once the dominant platform for social engagement, has seen younger audiences flock to TikTok and YouTube in recent years. The Creator Fast Track initiative represents Meta’s strategy to reinvigorate its creator ecosystem, attract influencers with large followings, and expand engagement across its platforms globally.
Meta’s approach also addresses a key pain point for creators: building an audience from scratch. Through the programme, creators’ Reels will be distributed more widely, accelerating follower growth and engagement.
The company has also invested heavily in AI-powered translation features, enabling Reels to be automatically dubbed and lip-synced into multiple languages. This allows content to reach global audiences without compromising authenticity or voice tone.
Nigerian content creators have been eligible for Facebook monetisation since July 2024, following the rollout of features like in-stream ads and Ads on Reels. To qualify, creators must meet thresholds such as a minimum of 5,000 followers and compliance with Facebook’s monetisation policies.
The new initiative is expected to provide significant financial opportunities for Nigerian influencers, particularly those who already have followings on TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram but are seeking to expand into Facebook’s global ecosystem.
Meta’s Creator Fast Track programme reflects the growing competition in the creator economy, where platforms increasingly offer financial incentives to attract and retain top talent. For creators, it presents a unique opportunity to diversify income streams, gain visibility, and tap into one of the largest social media networks in the world.
As social media platforms vie for dominance, initiatives like this will likely reshape the landscape of digital content creation, putting monetisation, audience growth, and cross-platform engagement at the center of creator strategies worldwide.
