SIFAX Group marked the 2026 edition of International Women’s Day with a series of initiatives, including a school mentorship programme, an employee empowerment webinar, and a community food distribution drive, aimed at supporting girls, women, and vulnerable households in Lagos.

One of the highlights of the activities was an outreach to United Christian Secondary School, where more than 500 female students received mentorship from senior female professionals within the organisation. The session focused on leadership, education, personal development and menstrual health awareness. The company also donated textbooks, sanitary pads and perfumes to the students.

During the interaction, speakers shared personal career experiences to inspire the girls to remain committed to their education and avoid distractions. They encouraged the students to believe in their potential and pursue opportunities across diverse fields, including business, law, medicine, technology and the creative industries.

Jesuyemisi Odeyemi, Head of Legal Services and Company Secretary at SIFAX Group, urged the students to strive for excellence, telling them they possess the strength and ability to succeed in their chosen careers.

Similarly, Vanessa Uansohia, Head of Corporate Communications at Skyway Aviation Handling Company, challenged the students to overcome self-limiting beliefs and pursue their ambitions with confidence.

As part of its internal celebration, the organisation also organised a virtual training session for female employees focused on improving communication and leadership capacity in the workplace.

Speaking during the webinar, public speaking strategist Joyce Daniels highlighted the importance of communication skills in career advancement. She noted that professionals who speak with conviction and clarity often distinguish themselves as leaders in their organisations.

Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director of SIFAX Group, described International Women’s Day as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while advancing the conversation around gender equality. She noted that the theme “Give to Gain” aligns with the organisation’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

Beyond the workplace and school outreach, the company also carried out a community support initiative in the Ijora area of Lagos, where 500 food packs containing staple items such as rice, beans, vegetable oil, garri and salt were distributed to vulnerable households.

According to Eniola-Jegede, the initiative reflects the company’s culture of compassion and its commitment to supporting the communities where it operates, while encouraging women within the organisation to lead social impact initiatives that uplift disadvantaged groups.
