SIFAX Group has pledged strong support for the Port Authority Police (Western) Command as part of efforts to strengthen security across Lagos ports.

The commitment was made by Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Executive Chairman of SIFAX Group, during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, Port Authority Police (Western) Command, to the company’s head office in Lagos.

Afolabi said effective port security requires close collaboration among all stakeholders in the maritime ecosystem. He stressed that supporting the Police Command is critical to protecting lives and property, safeguarding port infrastructure, and ensuring a safe environment for legitimate commercial activities.

He praised Agbaminoja’s track record in the maritime sector and described her appointment as a testament to the confidence reposed in her by the Nigeria Police Force.

“SIFAX Group has built a solid working relationship with CP Toyin Agbaminoja over the years. Her promotion reflects the trust in her capacity to deliver results. We believe security thrives on collaboration, and SIFAX Group will continue to support the Port Authority Police Command in all its initiatives,” Afolabi said.

In her remarks, Agbaminoja commended SIFAX Group for its contributions to the maritime industry, noting that her visit was aimed at deepening cooperation between the company and the Command in pursuit of shared maritime security objectives.

Members of the SIFAX Group management team present included the Group Coordinating Director, Wunmi Eniola-Jegede; Managing Director, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited, John Jenkins; Deputy Director, Strategy and Operations, Oliver Omajuwa; and Group Head, Corporate Communications, Muyiwa Akande.

The Police delegation included senior officers of the Command, among them Assistant Commissioners of Police Inusa Karyah (Operations) and Olufikayo Fawole (Administration), Area Commander Western Ports, Sunday Adeyeri, and the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin.
