The Lagos State Government has launched a major textbook distribution drive aimed at improving learning outcomes across public primary and secondary schools. The initiative, rolled out on Tuesday by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, is designed to provide students with essential learning materials and strengthen curriculum delivery statewide.

The distribution, currently underway at the Education Resource Centre (ERC), Ojodu-Berger, marks another significant step in the government’s push to elevate teaching standards, bridge resource gaps, and ensure equitable access to quality education.

Top government officials, education stakeholders, school administrators and district representatives attended the flag-off ceremony, underscoring the state’s collaborative approach to shaping a stronger education system.

Officials reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to prioritising education, noting that the new textbooks will support thousands of students and empower teachers with the tools needed for improved instruction. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to upgrade public schools, close learning gaps, and set a benchmark for education reforms nationwide.

As the materials reach classrooms, teachers and students are preparing for a renewed academic push, one many hope will drive long-term progress and position Lagos as a leader in basic and secondary education.
