The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has installed new electronic barrier systems at all Lagos port terminals to stop unauthorized trucks from entering. This move is designed to improve traffic flow and boost efficiency at the ports.

According to Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, NPA Managing Director, the new system is fully integrated with the “Eto” electronic call-up system, which schedules truck movements. This means that only trucks with a valid, pre-approved ticket from the “Eto” app will be able to pass through the barriers, effectively eliminating illegal entries.

The NPA believes this will help modernize port operations, align with the government’s “Ease of Doing Business” initiative, and make the ports more efficient and secure.
