The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a newly redesigned website to boost regulatory transparency and protect investors. The upgraded platform, which was announced on Monday, is a significant step toward modernizing the commission’s operations and improving access to financial information.
According to the SEC, the new website features a sleek, mobile-friendly design and improved navigation, making it easier for investors, market operators, and the public to find key resources.
Emomotimi Agama, the SEC’s Director-General, said the redesign reflects the commission’s dedication to improving service delivery. “This digital advancement is a significant step in building a more transparent and accessible Commission,” he said.
Key Features and Fraud Alert
In addition to its improved design, the website consolidates regulatory guidelines, publications, and investor alerts in one place. This makes it easier for the public to stay informed and protected.
The website launch comes as the SEC intensifies its crackdown on fraudulent investment schemes. In 2025 alone, the commission has flagged several platforms for operating illegally, including:
- GVEST Global
- Pocket Option
- Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX)
- Sapphire Scents Limited
The SEC has warned the public that these platforms are not authorized to operate in Nigeria and that anyone who invests with them does so at their own risk. This enforcement effort is part of the SEC’s new strategy to enhance market integrity, as outlined in the recently enacted Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2025, which gives the commission expanded powers to combat fraudulent schemes.
