Zedcrest Group has expanded its flagship SME support initiative, A Taste of Nigeria, unveiling 10 new business partners for the 2025/2026 cohort as part of efforts to promote Made-in-Nigeria brands and reduce reliance on imports.
The newly announced partners include Pedro’s Ogogoro, Loom Chocolate, Lim Lim Foods, Dang, Kokari Coconuts, Tquart Foods, Bature Brewery, Happy Coffee, Dulce’s Jam, and MySibi.
Launched in 2024, A Taste of Nigeria was designed to encourage patronage of locally made products among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, while tackling structural economic challenges such as heavy import dependence and currency volatility.
Through the initiative, participating businesses gain access to:
- Bulk product purchases
- Expanded market access
- Increased brand visibility
- Product showcases
- Tailored financing solutions
- Long-term strategic partnerships
Zedcrest said the programme forms part of its broader commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s SME ecosystem and supporting sustainable economic growth.
Oyinkansola Adeboye, Head of Brands and Communications at Zedcrest Group, said the initiative recognises the critical role SMEs play in driving economic expansion. “SMEs form the backbone of the Nigerian economy, and A Taste of Nigeria is one of the ways we are providing entrepreneurs with the tools, access, and visibility they need to scale their businesses,” she said.
Adeboye added that while a select number of partners have been unveiled, more entrepreneurs will benefit from activities lined up throughout the year, including a new weekly video series on Zedcrest’s YouTube channel spotlighting the featured brands and their founders.
The expansion comes amid rising import figures. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show Nigeria imported goods worth ₦46.8 trillion in the first three quarters of 2025, representing a 17.7 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024 and a 30.5 per cent rise over full-year 2023 imports.
By promoting domestic consumption and strengthening local value chains, Zedcrest aims to contribute to economic resilience and support efforts to stabilise the naira.
The initiative builds on the success of its maiden edition, which featured brands such as Dala Liqueur, E’Sorae Home, Poshnoms, Gratia Foods, Arami Essentials, Jacque Lagos, ReelFruit, Pamii, and Oma’s Whole Foods.
