Veritasi Homes has launched Arámidẹ́, an ambitious 1,000-unit, solar-powered housing project designed to make homeownership attainable for Nigeria’s middle-class earners and young professionals. The project, whose name means “My Own Has Arrived” in Yoruba, begins with the first phase of 26 three-bedroom bungalows in Aiyetoro, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Sustainability and Affordability
The Arámidẹ́ initiative directly addresses Nigeria’s housing deficit by focusing on affordability and energy independence:
- Sustainability: Every three-bedroom bungalow with a boys’ quarter is solar-ready, aiming to combat unstable power supply and reduce future utility costs. The homes feature eco-conscious finishes and are constructed using recyclable materials.
- Flexible Financing: Veritasi has partnered with commercial banks and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) to remove financial barriers. Buyers can secure a home with an initial deposit of ₦3 million and access competitive mortgage options at a 9.75 per cent annual interest rate with repayment plans of up to 20 years.
Company Mission
Mr. Nola Adetola, CEO of Veritasi Homes, explained that the project shifts the focus from building only for the wealthy to creating an ecosystem where middle-income earners can experience quality homeownership. The company aims to deliver all 1,000 units across Nigeria within two years.
Veritasi Homes is recognised as one of Africa’s fastest-growing real estate firms and the only Nigerian firm to be listed by the Financial Times in this category.
