Tetracore Energy Group (TEG) has commissioned a high-capacity 60,000 Standard Cubic Metres per Day (SCMD) Auto Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility in Ogere, Ogun State, in a move aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s clean energy transition and strengthening industrial growth along the Lagos–Ibadan corridor.

The facility, delivered through its subsidiary, Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited, is designed to provide affordable and environmentally friendly fuel for commercial transport operators, logistics fleets, manufacturers, and other industrial users within Ogun State and neighbouring regions.

Strategically situated along one of Nigeria’s busiest industrial corridors, the new plant is expected to enhance fuel availability for mass transit buses, trucks and other CNG-powered commercial vehicles.

With an installed capacity of 60,000 SCMD, the station can fuel over 100 vehicles daily, significantly improving access to cleaner fuel while reducing operating costs for businesses.

The project aligns with the Federal Government’s gas utilisation and energy transition agenda, which seeks to deepen domestic gas adoption, reduce reliance on conventional fuels, and lower carbon emissions across key sectors of the economy.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group described the project as a strategic investment in infrastructure and community development.

“The commissioning of this Auto CNG facility represents our unwavering commitment to delivering practical energy solutions that power businesses, lower transportation costs, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security,” he said.

“This is not just a fueling station; it is critical infrastructure that supports cleaner mobility, industrial productivity, and long-term economic growth.”

The event was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, industry partners and other stakeholders.

The Ologere of Ogere, His Royal Highness Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbiina II), welcomed the development, describing it as a milestone for the town.

“This project brings development, employment and opportunity to our people. We look forward to the lasting benefits it will bring to our community,” the monarch said.

Elder Anthony Oyegunle, a respected community leader, noted that the facility would create jobs for youths and stimulate commerce in the area.

Several other traditional leaders, including High Chief Dr. Adeyiga Ositelu (Olisu of Ogere), High Chief Muritadeen Ajadi (Oluwo of Ogere), and High Chief Segun Adeniyi (Asiwaju of Ogere), also expressed support for the initiative.

Beyond energy access, the project is expected to generate dozens of direct jobs in plant operations, engineering and administration, alongside over 100 indirect jobs across logistics, maintenance and local supply chains.

The facility is equipped with advanced safety systems, including gas detection and monitoring technology, automated emergency shutdown mechanisms, fire suppression infrastructure, and high-pressure protection systems, all operated in compliance with national and international standards.

The Ogere Auto CNG plant forms part of TEG’s broader strategy to expand its midstream and downstream gas distribution network across Nigeria, supplying compressed natural gas, piped natural gas, liquefied natural gas and gas-to-power solutions.

For Tetracore Energy Group, the commissioning signals more than infrastructure delivery, it reinforces its ambition to drive industrialisation, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen Nigeria’s long-term energy security.
