New Horizons Nigeria and the Redeemed College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) have formalised a strategic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at equipping Nigerian students with future-ready digital skills.
The collaboration reinforces New Horizons’ commitment to advancing digital transformation and preparing students for competitiveness in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Under the agreement, New Horizons will provide international ICT certifications and hands-on training in high-demand areas including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and other emerging technologies.
With the partnership, RECTEM becomes the first private college of technology in Nigeria to adopt a comprehensive 4IR-focused training model designed to significantly boost graduate employability and global relevance.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tim Akano, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Horizons Nigeria, assured stakeholders of the organisation’s capacity to deliver world-class training.
He highlighted New Horizons’ 43-year legacy as a US-based ICT training institution with operations in over 90 countries and more than 400 centres worldwide, stressing its focus on practical, industry-aligned skills development.
The Rector of RECTEM, Prof. Izobo-Martins Oladunni Oluwatoyin, described the partnership as timely, noting that it would expose students to entrepreneurial and future-ready digital skills needed to compete globally.
The event was attended by principal officers of RECTEM, including the Registrar, Dr. Sunday Onjewu; Bursar, Mr. F. A. Oyewole; ICT Director, Dr. Stella Egbowawa; and Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Enoch Aregbe, alongside other guests.
Further strengthening its presence in tech education, New Horizons also announced the onboarding of 13 new secondary schools, expanding its network to over 150 educational partners nationwide. The move underscores the company’s strategy of developing digital talent from an early stage.
In a related development, New Horizons disclosed a landmark partnership with Monarch University, Ota, signed on January 20, 2026, focusing on international ICT certifications and AI empowerment.
The Chancellor of the University, Bishop Tom Samson, said the collaboration would complement academic programmes across sciences, management, social sciences and the humanities.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, New Horizons also donated 250 high-end ICT courseware materials to the Monarch University Library. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mopelola Omoegun, described the donation as critical to enhancing teaching, research and innovation.
New Horizons Nigeria remains Africa’s largest ICT training organisation and was named Best ICT Training Company by CompTIA in South Africa in 2025. The company currently partners with over 25 universities and nearly 200 secondary schools nationwide and operates as a franchise of New Horizons International, which has offices in 90 countries across six continents.
