Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, says 30 per cent of inmates in custodial centres across the country should be released. The minister said he will meet with state governors to decide on the mass release of the inmates, adding that 90 per cent of them are being held for contravening various states’ laws. Nigeria expended a sum of $264 million on shea butter and vegetable oil importation in 2021, the latest report from the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has shown.
