The number of Point of Sales (PoS) machines deployed by merchants and individuals across Nigeria rose to 3.04 million in July this year. The Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) disclosed this in its latest electronic payment data. This represents a 32 per cent increase year on year when compared with the number of deployed terminals in the same period last year, which was 2.3 million. The Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has announced that the FPSO facility in Lagos, a joint venture between NNPC Limited and Century Nigeria Limited, is nearing completion and will soon contribute an additional 40,000 barrels per day to Nigeria’s crude oil production.
