Idorenyen (Idy) Enang, respected business leader, executive coach and mentor, is spearheading the Passing the Torch (PTT) initiative, a powerful platform for mentorship, leadership continuity, and nation building.

Developed by Corporate Shepherds Limited, the initiative will take centre stage as Mr Enang commemorates his 60th birthday in a landmark gathering in Lagos, bringing together seasoned executives, emerging professionals, mentees, protégés, thought leaders, family, and friends.

At the heart of the PTT initiative is a deliberate commitment to bridging generational gaps by connecting experienced leaders with the next generation of professionals and change-makers. The platform is designed to strengthen mentorship culture, transfer institutional wisdom and build a sustainable pipeline of ethical and capable leaders across sectors.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr Enang emphasised the urgency of the initiative: “Passing the Torch is not an event; it is a responsibility. It is a deliberate call to action for intergenerational collaboration and sustainable leadership. If we do not intentionally transfer knowledge and values, we risk breaking the chain of continuity in leadership and nation-building.”

He stated, “I desire that every participant leaves with a renewed sense of duty, to mentor someone, to be mentored, and to contribute to building stronger institutions for the future.”

With over three decades of experience across global organisations, including Diageo, The Coca-Cola Company, Cadbury Plc, Samsung, and L’Oréal, Enang has built a reputation for leadership development and executive coaching. As Founder and CEO of Corporate Shepherds Limited and Executive in Residence at Lagos Business School (Pan-Atlantic University), he continues to shape the next generation of leaders.

The Passing the Torch initiative underscores a growing imperative: leadership continuity must be intentionally designed, cultivated, and sustained through deliberate mentorship ecosystems. The Lagos gathering aims to inspire participants to embrace mentorship as an active tool for institutional strengthening and national development.

The event is designed as a dynamic leadership platform rather than a traditional celebration. It features an engaging blend of dialogue, reflection, and storytelling focused on transferring institutional wisdom and building a sustainable pipeline of ethical leaders across sectors.

Participants will equally witness the presentation of the commemorative book, 60 Navigational Truths, which captures key insights from Mr Enang’s leadership philosophy.
