The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the duration of the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) from two hours to four hours, while commencing the printing of notification slips for candidates.
In a statement, the board said the adjustment is designed to give candidates more time to familiarise themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment ahead of the main examination.
The mock exam is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, and will now be conducted in two consecutive sessions. The first session will run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a second session from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Candidates are expected to participate in both sessions.
JAMB also announced that candidates who opted for the mock examination can begin printing their notification slips from Monday, March 23, 2026. To access their slips, candidates are required to visit the board’s official portal, select the “2-Session 2026 Mock Slip Printing” option, and input their registration number.
The board advised candidates to print their slips early and locate their assigned examination centres ahead of the test date to avoid last-minute challenges.
It further warned that candidates who indicated interest in the mock examination are expected to participate, noting that failure to do so may attract consequences.
The Mock UTME is an optional exercise introduced to help candidates get accustomed to the CBT format while allowing JAMB to test its systems and examination centres ahead of the main UTME.
For the 2026 UTME, over 2.2 million candidates registered nationwide, with Lagos, Kaduna, the FCT, and Ogun recording the highest numbers. JAMB has also increased the number of accredited CBT centres to 1,000, up from fewer than 800 in 2025, to improve access and logistics.
