ipNX Nigeria Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding digital connectivity and supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda through sustained investment in telecommunications infrastructure and reliable broadband services.

The information and communications technology company said it would continue to develop critical connectivity infrastructure to improve digital access for businesses, government institutions and communities across the country.

Segun Okuneye, Deputy Director, Strategic Business Initiative at ipNX, stated this following the company’s receipt of the Connectivity and Last Mile Access Award at the inaugural Nigeria eGovernment Summit and Excellence Awards in Lagos.

He said the recognition reflected ipNX’s growing contribution to Nigeria’s digital ecosystem and the importance of sustained investment in infrastructure to close the country’s connectivity gap.

“This recognition is a testament to our continued efforts to expand access to reliable connectivity across Nigeria. Bridging the digital divide requires more than infrastructure; it demands sustained collaboration between government and the private sector, continuous innovation and a shared commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind,” Okuneye said.

He added that the company remained committed to building infrastructure that enables greater digital participation and creates opportunities for people, businesses and institutions.

Through investment in connectivity infrastructure, technology solutions and partnerships with public- and private-sector organisations, ipNX said it would continue to support efforts to extend reliable digital access and strengthen the foundations of a connected economy.

At the summit, Oluseyi Lala, Divisional CEO, ipNX Business, participated in a panel session titled “The Last Mile Challenge: Powering Connectivity and Energy for 100 per cent Polling Unit Coverage.”

Lala highlighted the interconnected challenges of power supply and telecommunications connectivity, arguing that both require proactive planning, coordinated interventions and collaboration among relevant stakeholders.

He called for stronger engagement between Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and private-sector operators to identify potential challenges, develop solutions and test their effectiveness well ahead of Election Day.

He also urged stakeholders to anticipate the high traffic demand associated with elections, noting that connectivity planning should prioritise traffic from Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices to support the reliability and integrity of election-related processes.
