Seven-Up Bottling Company (SBC) has confirmed that the bright yellow caps appearing on bottles of some of its beverage brands are authentic, describing them as a temporary feature linked to an upcoming consumer initiative.
The yellow caps have appeared on bottles of Pepsi, Mirinda, 7UP, Teem and Supa Komando in selected retail outlets, prompting questions among consumers about the reason for the packaging change.
In a statement, the company said the change was part of an initiative that would introduce an exciting experience for consumers in selected regions, although it has yet to disclose further details.
The development follows teaser communications from the company hinting at an upcoming announcement. A post on Pepsi’s Instagram page also fuelled speculation with the message: “Something exciting is coming.”
The post attracted enthusiastic reactions, with some consumers expressing excitement and others urging the company to reveal its plans.
The unusual packaging has become a talking point among consumers, with the yellow caps serving as a visual clue in the build-up to the campaign’s unveiling.
While SBC has not confirmed the nature of the initiative, its messaging suggests that the temporary packaging change is intended to generate interest ahead of the announcement.
For now, consumers will have to wait for the company to reveal what the yellow caps represent and how the planned initiative will work.
