Beta Glass Plc delivered a strong second-quarter performance in 2026, reporting a 13.8 per cent increase in revenue as sustained customer demand and export sales helped offset a challenging operating environment.

The West and Central African glass container manufacturer recorded Q2 revenue of N42.18 billion, up from N37.07 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. The performance lifted first-half revenue to N79.71 billion, representing a 1.9 per cent increase over the N78.23 billion posted in the first half of last year.

The company announced the results in its unaudited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026, released by its Board of Directors.

Beta Glass maintained solid profitability despite higher logistics and production costs.

Operating profit rose 8.5 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter to N12.80 billion, while gross profit increased 7.4 per cent to N14.37 billion.

However, rising inbound logistics expenses and input costs moderated overall earnings growth.

Profit before tax edged up 2.0 per cent to N12.63 billion in the second quarter, while profit after tax stood at N8.35 billion, compared with N8.71 billion in the same period of 2025.

For the first half of the year, the company reported:

  • Revenue: N79.71 billion (+1.9%)
  • Operating profit: N28.07 billion
  • Profit before tax: N24.48 billion
  • Profit after tax: N16.16 billion
  • Earnings per share: N26.93

Commenting on the results, Alex Gendis, Chief Executive Officer, said the company’s second-quarter performance was driven by healthy demand in both domestic and export markets.

“Our 13.8 per cent revenue growth in Q2 2026 was supported by sustained customer demand both locally and from export sales,” he said.

Gendis acknowledged that higher logistics and input costs weighed on margins during the quarter but expressed confidence that the company’s pricing strategy would support profitability in the second half of the year.

“Our dynamic pricing model will account for these factors, and we expect this to progressively support margin recovery over the second half of the year,” he said.

The CEO noted that the modest first-half revenue growth should be viewed against an unusually strong comparative period in 2025, when several major customers front-loaded a significant portion of their annual purchases early in the year.

According to him, adjusting for that high base effect, the company remains ahead of its internal performance targets and on course to achieve its full-year objectives.

“We continue to see solid demand across both our local and export markets and remain focused on delivering the highest quality glass products, operational excellence and service that our customers have come to expect from Beta Glass,” Gendis added.

Beta Glass is one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers in West and Central Africa, supplying packaging solutions to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries. The company said it remains focused on driving operational efficiency, supporting customer growth and sustaining long-term shareholder value.
