Unilever Nigeria Plc has reported strong financial performance for the first half of 2026, posting double-digit growth in revenue and profit despite a challenging operating environment.

According to the company’s unaudited financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue rose by 22 per cent to ₦119.9 billion, up from ₦98.1 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

Gross profit increased by 30 per cent to ₦54.7 billion, compared with ₦42.1 billion in the same period last year, while net profit climbed to ₦15.6 billion, from ₦14.4 billion in the first half of 2025.

Reflecting the improved performance, the Board of Directors approved an interim dividend of ₦2.00 per 50 kobo ordinary share, subject to applicable withholding tax. The dividend, which totals ₦11.5 billion, will be paid to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members at the close of business on July 31, 2026.

Commenting on the results, Tobi Adeniyi, Managing Director, said the company delivered a resilient performance despite geopolitical uncertainties, rising production costs and weaker consumer spending.

“We delivered a strong first half in a challenging operating environment, marked by geopolitical volatility, rising input costs and pressure on consumer spending. Despite these headwinds, we continued to grow by staying focused on what we can control, serving consumers better, strengthening our route-to-market capabilities, driving impactful innovation and executing with discipline,” he said.

Adeniyi noted that revenue growth of 22 per cent, a 30 per cent increase in gross profit and an improved gross margin of 45.6 per cent were driven by strong brand performance, disciplined operations and efficient market execution.

He added that the company’s performance reinforces its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Nigerian consumers through relevant and innovative brands.

“For more than 100 years, Unilever Nigeria has invested in local manufacturing, talent development and value creation across our ecosystem. We remain optimistic about Nigeria’s long-term potential and will continue to invest responsibly in our operations, brands and people as we work to brighten everyday life for all Nigerians,” he said.

Looking ahead, Adeniyi said the company remains focused on delivering sustainable, profitable growth by strengthening its consumer focus and building a resilient business that creates long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders.
